ATTRACTION TICKETS AND PASSES

Which ticket is the right one for you?

PASSES / TICKETS EXPLAINED

Firstly, call them tickets or passes, they are the same thing. We like to think of single day entries as tickets as they are taken from you on entry, but if you buy a ticket that lasts for more than one day, you retain it after entry to the Park, to use again, therefore it becomes an entry pass!

We know that trying choosing the best tickets is difficult - you have entered a minefield - if you don't understand what the different tickets offer and how they work, how can you possibly decide on which one is the best deal for you and your family. Here we explain what they are and how they work:-

Single Park Tickets

These are quite simple - you choose which park you want to visit, be it a Disney Park or one of the other attractions such as Sea World or Universal Studios and you get that theme park for one solid day of fun - they are not the most cost effective way of visiting the parks, but if you decide that you don't want to spend too many days at theme parks, this may well be your best option.

DISNEY TICKETS

There are four different types of Disney Tickets:
Magic Your Way Base Tickets
Magic Your Way Park Hopper Tickets
Magic Your Way Base Ticket with Water Park Fun & More Options
Magic Your Way Park Hopper Ticket with Water Park Fun & More Option
The most important thing in deciding which Magic Your Way ticket is right for you is to choose how many days you want to spend at the 4 Major Disney World Parks, which are:

MAGIC KINGDOM
EPCOT
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS (formerly known as MGM)
ANIMAL KINGDOM

Another decision is... do you want to include any visits to any of the other Disney Attractions? These are:

TYPHOON LAGOON WATER PARK
BLIZZARD BEACH WATER PARK
WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS COMPLEX
DOWNTOWN DISNEY
PLEASURE ISLAND
DISNEYQUEST - INDOOR INTERACTIVE COMPLEX (located at DOWNTOWN DISNEY)

Magic Your Way Base Tickets
These are the Basic Tickets. They are quite simply tickets to get you into one of the four major parks for each day that you have purchased. Therefore if you buy a 3 Day Base Ticket you can visit Disney World for 3 Days, choosing a different park each day or 2 days at 'say' Magic Kingdom and 1 day at Epcot - the choice is entirely yours. You are able to leave and re-enter the same park on each day, but you cannot visit a different park on that day (otherwise you would be using up another day from your pass).

As with the other single tickets, these are not the most cost effective way of visiting Disney, but if you just want to get a taste of the action without spending your whole holiday at Disney, this may be your best option.

Magic Your Way Park Hopper Tickets

With these tickets you are purchasing the same deal as the Base Tickets, but with the option to go from Park to Park during each day of your visit to the four major Disney Parks.

Magic Your Way Base Ticket with Water Park Fun & More Options
The wording 'with Water Park Fun & More Options' is the key to understanding these tickets. They work in the same way as the Magic Your Way Base Tickets, but they have extra day admissions to allow you to visit some (or all) of the other Disney Attractions listed above - depending on how many extra days you decide to purchase.

Magic Your Way Park Hopper Ticket with Water Park Fun & More Options
As before, the word 'Hopper' is the key to understanding this option. It give you the same deal as the Base Ticket with Water Park Fun & More Options, with the added bonus of being able to go between the Major Parks in any one day used.
NB: Hopping does not apply to the smaller Disney Attractions - If you visit Magic Kindom and Epcot during the day and then visit DisneyQuest in the evening you will have used One Disney Day and One Extra Admission on the same day!

Expiry or Non Expiry
Lastly, you need to decide whether or not you want your ticket to expire or not. You can choose either:

Tickets that have expiration on them and have to be used within 14 days from the first day you use the ticket.
or
No Expiration Tickets, which never EVER expire, so you could buy a 6 day ticket in say 2010 - use 2 days immediately and then you would still have 4 days to use anytime in the future!

Just remember that tickets are not transferable from person to person
Disney ID each ticket to a person therefore you cannot pass it to someone else

Disney Tickets are available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 Day Options
If you choose to buy the "with Water Park Fun & More Options" Ticket, you will get the same number of Extra Days as you choose to buy Disney Days, therefore if you buy the 5 day ticket you will get 5 days to use on the Major Parks and 5 days to use on the Other Disney Attractions, i.e. Water Parks, etc. as listed above).

These tickets allow 14 days unlimited access to the four other major theme parks, i.e. Sea World, Universal Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios and Wet and Wild.

SOME OTHER USEFUL TIPS
Child is age 3 years to 9 years
Some companies selling passes/tickets add sales tax to their prices, some include this - BEWARE!
Don't be too adventurous, the major theme parks cover vast areas and if you have never been before, allow at least a full day in each park to enjoy what it has to offer
